Microfiltration
Microfiltration uses membranes with pores that are between 0.1 and 10 µm in size.
Ultrafiltration (UF)
Ultrafiltration uses more or less the same principle as reverse osmosis. The major difference is the size of the particles filtered by the membranes. In an ultrafiltration the pores are between 0.01 and 0.1 µm in size.
Nanofiltration
Nanofiltration uses membranes with pores that are between 0,001 and 0,01 µm in size.
Electrodeionisation (EDI)
Electrodeionisation uses an electrode to ionise the water atoms and separate the dissolved ions (impurities) from the water. EDI is often used together with another technology such as reverse osmosis.
